Among Us turned a small crew of colorful astronauts into one of the biggest social deduction games ever made. Most players are Crewmates, running around the map completing simple tasks to keep the ship running. One or more players are secretly Impostors, whose job is to blend in, sabotage systems, and eliminate Crewmates one by one without getting caught. When a body is found or someone calls an emergency meeting, everyone gathers to argue, accuse, and vote — and the entire game hinges on whether the group can actually figure out who's lying.

The genius of the format is that everyone has the same basic tools: movement, tasks, and talking. There's no combat skill to master, no aim to practice — winning as a Crewmate means reading people and building a convincing case, and winning as an Impostor means constructing a believable alibi under pressure. That makes every meeting genuinely tense, since a good liar with weak evidence can beat an honest player who explains themselves badly.

How to Play

• Crewmates — move around the map completing assigned tasks while watching for suspicious behavior.
• Impostors — fake tasks, sabotage systems, and eliminate Crewmates without being seen.
• Report dead bodies or call emergency meetings to open a discussion and vote on who to eject.
• Crewmates win by finishing all tasks or correctly voting out every Impostor; Impostors win by reducing the crew to their own number.

Tips for Both Roles

• As a Crewmate, try to stick near other players during tasks — it's much harder to be killed unseen in a group.
• As an Impostor, don't be near a body when it's found if you can avoid it, and have a task-based excuse ready for where you were.
• Pay attention to task bar progress and vent sightings — small inconsistencies are usually the strongest evidence in a meeting.
• Confident, specific explanations tend to be more convincing than vague or overly defensive ones, regardless of which role you're playing.
