Background

Fireboy and Watergirl: Forest Temple is the original entry in what became one of the most enduring cooperative puzzle-platformer franchises of the flash era, created by developer Oslo Albet. Its core hook — controlling two characters with opposite elemental weaknesses at the same time, either solo or with a friend — turned out to have remarkable staying power, spawning numerous sequels across different temple settings.

The forest temple setting introduces the series' foundational puzzle logic: Fireboy cannot touch water, Watergirl cannot touch fire, and both must avoid the poison-green goo, forcing every puzzle to be solved with both characters' safety in mind simultaneously rather than one at a time.

How to Play

• Arrow Keys — control Fireboy; WASD — control Watergirl (solo or with a second player).
• Guide Fireboy around water hazards and Watergirl around fire hazards.
• Both characters must avoid the poison-green goo entirely.
• Solve lever, platform, and timing puzzles that require both characters to cooperate.

Goal & Purpose

The goal in each level is to get both Fireboy and Watergirl safely to their respective exit doors, collecting gems along the way, which requires solving each puzzle with both characters' unique hazards in mind at once.
